Plimoth Patuxet (formerly Plimoth Plantation) is home to recreations of both a Wampanoag village and an English village from the year 1627. Interpreters act the part of historical villagers and tribe members while dressed in period appropriate clothing. Other buildings house traditional museum displays of historical artifacts from each culture. In 2022 Plimoth Patuxet was the subject of criticism by the Wampanoag tribe and former museum employees for neglecting the Wampanoag village. The controversy remains unsettled and the Wampanoag tribe has called for a boycott.
