The Mashantucket Pequot Museum is run by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. It is an impressively large, modern museum telling the story of the tribe from their arrival in Connecticut thousands of years ago, to their encounters with European colonists, forward to the present day. The museum features a number of life sized dioramas depicting native heritage including a an enormous walk-through recreation of a Pequot village from pre-colonial times.
